Pizza Scissors

pizza scissors

Okay, I saw this at my discount store kitchen wares aisle this weekend and laughed out loud. I would categorize it under “things that make great gifts because you don’t want them” category. Yes, it’s a bit of genius. But it’s a really pointless bit of discovery. It reminds me of some of my best buys in the “have to have but don’t need” selections.

There’s the sandwich shaped container - that’s the same design as “wonder bread” which I never buy - and even if I did, the lid is missing now. The shellfish forks. I pass them buy in the drawer-of-no-return now and then, it’s a fond moment. The dessert saucer plates with matching cups and quippy sayings that came in a mini-hatbox. They don’t fit anywhere in the big scheme of storage. But alas, I have not fallen for the pizza scissors with combined spatula just yet. I did however, for a moment, picture the “aha” moment that must have sponsored its creation. I see the point. I get it. I just don’t think I’m actually going to get it. But it’s a conversation piece for the next pizza party if you’re into that kind of thing - at just $20 it won’t break the bank. Might take up valuable space, though. Maybe as a hostess gift for someone you suspect has pizza cutting problems? From one drawer to another, I predict a lot of these will show up at your local Goodwill store in about five years. Somebody keep an eye out and let me know. Meanwhile, I’ve got a pasta wheel that cuts pizza just fine - and a pie server, served separately. [ Sky Mall ]

Hmmmm - is cutting pizza really that difficult that you need such a contraption. Too funny!
I do use kitchen shears to cut everything food wise, but this is a bit extreme!

I use kitchen shears (or, often, just whatever scissors are closest to hand) too - and I don’t even see the need for the pie server here! Once the darn thing is cut you can just grab it by the crust - and if it’s too hot to grab, it’s too hot to eat. Oh, needlessly complicated inventions….
