Ever stand in front of the fridge with the door open? Or stop at a café window and see how long you can irritate the people at the “view” seats. I do. It’s nice to see the food. And a great way to clear a table when it’s crowded. In fact, if you’re as strange as me, you hold up your plate when it’s worthy and let the poor saps outside see the forbidden.

It’s like reading a great cookbook – pictures are everything. Seriously. Nothing makes me sadder than a recipe with no photo of the final dish…it always leaves one wondering “Did I do it right?” or “Is it supposed to be purple?” or my personal favorite “What do you mean serve with rice – it’s a pie right?!” Nevermind that last one, it was traumatic enough the first time. Let’s just say, a picture is worth a thousand calories.

In this case, like a good pre-dinner gin and tonic, we invite you to submit something luscious. A photo and recipe of pure love perhaps. It whets the appetite and gets the eyeballs hungrier. This new site foodphotoblog.com is not only brought to you – drumroll please – by the swell folks from foodluvin here but wide open and ready for business. Just begging for your feedback – yeah, I used it. Feed. Back. Sigh. Your recipes. Your foodage. Your feats of love and liquids. Save me from the what am I gonna make for dinner blues with the easiest kind of love available today – web love.

That’s right. Food for the eyes. Posed potables. Slinky sustenance. Cream sauces with zero cholesterol. Ahhh the temptation. And speaking of which – aren’t you tempted to submit something fattening for me right now? Show me your hot stuff. Send me a close up of your silky smooth ganache. Tempt me with your teacakes. Nice buns.

So anyway, those six minutes a day you’re not hungry are now over. Just cruise over to foodphotoblog.com and let the salivation begin and the participation grow. My pants are already a bit snug. Share the blame.
