The BeerTender is manufactured by Krups Corporation for Dutch Beer producers Heineken.
Here is what the BeerTender website has to say about pouring the perfect glass of beer using the BeerTender.
“The authentic draft beer experience, a perfectly poured glass of liquid gold. If that’s not inspiring I don’t know what is. Take a glass and give it a good rinse, a dry glass will make the foam collapse easier, and you need the foam to prevent the beer from oxidizing.
Open the tap with one smooth motion and let the beer flow into the glass, hold at precisely 45 degrees beneath the tap, straighten the glass when its three quarters full, close the handle, put it down on the beer tray. skim on a 45 degree angle to seal in the flavor. When the bottom of the head reaches the shoulders of the Stein, you know you have poured the perfect beer.”
Now for my thoughts. You can only use this $299.99 thingofamagig to pour Heinies! Wassup with that? So in fact, its not really a BeerTender but more like a HeinieTender. In my humble opinion Heineken taste like Yak urine so all I would be doing is pouring a $299.99 glass of Yak urine! You may be asking Rob, have you ever actually tasted yak urine? The answer is yes it taste exactly like Heineken!
My question is what really is the difference between using this thing and just opening the “perfect” CAN or BOTTLE of beer yourself?! Who would buy this thing? Well my guess would be unemployed sub prime mortgage lenders could install these in their hummers to impress their stripper girl friends.
So now that I have managed to alienate BeerTender, Krups, Heinekin (don’t care) sub prime mortgage lenders (really don’t care), strippers (kinda bummed about that one), I feel my work is done. On a more positive note I think the design is kinda cool. [Sources Heineken, BeerTender, Krups, Mons Venus]
